Cian O'Mahony
Cian is head of Expert Modelling and Statistics at Creme Global.
Cian leads a team of data scientists developing exposure, intake and risk assessment models in a number areas including chemical risk assessment, food safety, predictive microbiology, and personal care products/cosmetics.
Many of the models developed by Cian's team Creme Global are now built into a range of software applications used by regulators, industry and researchers internationally. He is also involved in a number of expert panels and groups at ILSI, ECETOC, the World Bank and the JRC.
Cian's background is in pure and applied mathematics, holding a first class honours degree in mathematical sciences from University College Cork. He was awarded a full scholarship to carry out postgraduate research in applied mathematics and pharmacy, focusing on physiologically based pharmacokinetic models for the use of local anaesthetics in postoperative pain management.
Cian is leading a Health Analytics Workshop at Predict 2015 with his colleague Sandrine Pigat. For those interested in data and analytics for food safety, nutrition and health, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
And as if all of that wasn't enough! Cian is also a musician and holds a diploma in music, and enjoys endurance sports like marathon running and triathlons.
