Oisín’s research background is in data analytics, machine learning, personalization and recommender systems. He completed his PhD under Professor Barry Smyth at UCD in the area of personalized web search after which he joined the research and innovation group at ChangingWorlds Ltd, specialising in personalisation solutions for the telecommunications industry.
ChangingWorlds was subsequently acquired by Amdocs, a world leader in the telecommunications space where Oisín’s interests focused on real-time and big data predictive analytics.
