Sean O’Sullivan
Sean O’Sullivan is a global entrepreneur, engineer, inventor and investor. He is the founder and Managing Director of SOSventures, a $230m venture capital operation who run world-leading vertical startup accelerator programs.
Sean got his start as the founder of MapInfo, bringing street mapping technology to personal computers and developing the term “cloud computing.” MapInfo went on to become a $200 million public company with over 1,000 employees.
Sean has participated as an investor on the panel of the Irish version of the Dragon's Den TV programme and is credited by MIT with the co-invention of the term "cloud computing".
Sean has continued as a visionary entrepreneur and investor, fostering a wide range of businesses and humanitarian endeavours, including JumpStart International. Sean is also heavily involved in STEM education, working as a primary backer of organizations such as Khan Academy and CoderDojo.
Sean graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Electrical Engineering and from the University of Southern California with an MFA in Film & TV Production.
